In my work, I use sterling silver, beads both store-bought and hand-made, and semi-precious beads of stone, crystal and glass also and the pure silver of Precious Metal Clay.  I make many of my own jewelry findings such as ear wires and clasps.

Precious Metal Clay is fairly new to the jewelry scene.  It is a substance that has an organic clay base which is infused with pure silver powder.  The clay can be shaped, textured and molded then fired in a kiln.  A wonderful alchemy occurs during the firing; the organic matter burns off and only the pure silver remains.   Magic!   One can almost hear the padded footsteps of Rumplestilskin echoing when the kiln door is opened.
